Green Giant Mashed Cauliflower Cheddar and Bacon

I tried the Green Giant mashed cauliflower cheddar and bacon. According to the box, it has a full serving of cauliflower, no artificial flavors and 6 grams of carbohydrates per serving. The box has both microwave instructions and conventional oven instructions. The package is appealing. The photo on the box is realistic too. It looks like what one gets when it is cooked.
For something made of mashed cauliflower, it tastes more like mashed potatoes. It has a great taste. I like the cheddar and bacon flavor. With the microwave instructions, it was easy to prepare. Since I like using my microwave oven, I did not try it with the conventional oven.

I think Green Giant has a winner with this one. I think it is good for those who like mashed potatoes but don't want all the carbs one normally associates with potatoes or want to eat other vegetables. This is a great way to do both.

Skippy P.B.Bites - Pretzel, Double Peanut Butter, Graham Cracker and Granola

I found something that is really tasty. It is from Skippy. It is a handy way to eat peanut butter without having to use utensils and with ones hands. It is P.B.Bites. It comes in double peanut butter, with pretzel bits, with graham cracker, and granola. It is not easy finding all four in any one spot but it is worth looking for.

The downside is that it seems to melt if it gets too hot. Even melted it tastes pretty good. Instead of eating little spheres of peanut butter, it is one 'blob' of tasty peanut butter. One could use a fork or spoon but one could also use ones fingers, after cooling it a bit.

I like this one. I like almost anything with peanut butter. It is neat being able to have some using ones hands, assuming ones hands are clean.

It tastes great. I like the combination of peanut butter and graham cracker.

This one is pretty good. With granola, it even sounds healthy.

I like the crunch this one has. It does not have sharp pieces or too much pretzel.

Green Giant Mashed Cauliflower Garlic and Herb

I came across this at the grocery store. It is garlic and herb flavored mashed cauliflower. It is by Green Giant. It seems it is like mashed potatoes but without the potato. It indicates it has a full serving of cauliflower. That would be logical since it is made of cauliflower. It also indicates it has no artificial flavors or preservatives. It indicates it has 7 grams of carbohydrates per serving. One can cook it in a microwave or in a conventional oven. The package is big enough for a small family or a bigger one with everyone getting a really small serving. I doubt they would be satisfied with such small serving.
I cooked it in the microwave. It came out well. It was delicious. I could not taste the cauliflower that it is made from. It tasted more like mashed potatoes with garlic and herb. As a diabetic, I am supposed to have just one serving but I ended up finishing it all. I put it in a bowl (after heating the whole thing) and tried it different ways. I tried it just by itself. I tried it with butter. I tried it with a little bit of season salt; Lawry's reduced sodium seasoned salt.

I grew a beard for winter. It is filled with grey hairs.

Turkey Dinner at Old Salts / Lamie's Inn in Hampton New Hampshire

I had lunch at the Old Salt's restaurant. It was also the Lamie's Inn. It is in Hampton New Hampshire. It is on Route one / Lafayette Road. It is a really nice place. The restaurant has an eclectic theme to it. I thought of it as being warm and inviting. They had a fire in their fire place. The person I was with enjoyed it since it made her feel warm.
I had the tomato soup. It was really rich and creamy. It was really delicious. I had a cup of it. I wish I had more since it was so good.
I had the turkey dinner. It had sliced turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy, stuffing and green beans. It was really good. It was definitely comfort food. I was not able to eat the green beans since I was full. Not being a fan of green beans, I was biased against them. There was other vegetables that was with the green beans. I ate those and enjoyed them. They were not bad, for green beans. It came with two small containers of cranberry sauce.

One quesadilla, one beef enchilada, and one tostada and fried ice cream at Casa Tequila in Seabrook NH

On March 17 - St Patrick's Day - I went to a Mexican restaurant. It is called Casa Tequila in Seabrook New Hampshire. It is on Route 1 / Lafayette Road. It is a nice place with friendly service. They took over a place that was a restaurant before but a different kind of restaurant. I found the service to be friendly.
When is seated, they serve chips and a dip. The chips taste fresh and the dip has a nice bite to it. I don't think of it being too spicy hot but others might. I like it because of the crunch of the chips and the bite of the dip. I found the seats to be comfortable. We sat in a booth. There was enough room for me and my tummy.
I had the lunch menu number ten. It was one quesadilla, one beef enchilada and one tostada. The price is reasonable and the amount of food was good for lunch. It was really good. The plate was hot and the waitress told us (I had lunch with my brother) to be careful.
This is the quesadilla. It was like a grilled cheese sandwich. It was really good.
We saw on the menu that they had fried ice cream. Normally I don't get a desert since I am usually too full. I just had to try this. I do not regret ordering it. It was really good. It was visually appealing when it arrived. It taste matched its looks.

Bruce's Complete Sweet Potato Pancake and Waffle Mix

I found something different at the grocery store. It was in the pancake area. It is Bruce's complete sweet potato pancake and waffle mix. It was the 6 oz bag. Each bag makes 4 to 6 pancakes. It is complete so all one adds is water. It is labeled as the 'breakfast vegetable'. The package I bought was a little different from the design below but only a small part.
It was easy to make. I poured the bag into a bowl and added 3/4 cup of water. It indicates 4 to 6 pancakes but I made two. I guess if they were smaller there would be more of them. I had tried it by itself, it was pretty good. I tried it with some butter. It was pretty good. I tried it with butter and sugar-free syrup. It was pretty good. Even though it was a mix, it was like a potato pancake but using sweet potatoes. It was pretty good. It was like eating a baked sweet potato with sugar and cinnamon.

I will get some more and try it with different things. There are times I like to add things to the mix before frying it. Once I added some spinach. Another time I added some mushrooms. I like to experiment. It is usually tasty.

Ronzoni Super Greens Rotini

I found a product at the grocery store that seems to be a way to get ones serving of vegetables without having to actually eat vegetables (good if one dislikes vegetables but still ones the benefits of eating vegetables). The product is Super Greens by Ronzoni. Per the box, it has 3 servings of vegetables per 3.5 oz (100 g) portion. It is supposed to be a good source of fiber. It is also a good source of 5 vitamins and minerals. I think healthy is only good if it tastes good too. If one likes the taste, it is more likely one will eat it.

I bought the rotini. I liked how green it looked. The box indicates it is 'enriched pasta with spinach, zucchini, broccoli, parsley and kale'. It definitely reflects in color the color of the vegetables. Since I am a diabetic and want portion control, I use a cup of pasta. The portion size is 3/4 cup but I wanted a little more. I cooked the pasta. I tried it with butter, then garlic herb butter (Land O Lakes has one) then honey butter (also Land O lakes has one). It was really good. I also like using soups as a form of 'pasta sauce'. There are times I use tomato soup or a variation on it, or other kind of cream soup. The taste varies on the soup. It is usually good (from this bachelors point of view).

I might have posted this before but I am hoping it is different in what I am showing.

Double Bacon Cheeseburger and Home Crab Rangoon at Franky's

There is a nice little burger place in Hampton NH called Franky's. I really like eating food there. It is not a fancy place. There isn't a lot of seating. The menu is not huge. The food is really good. The service is really friendly. It is on my list of really good burger places. I would recommend it to others. One can take the food to go; especially if the seating is filled to capacity. It would be nice if they had outside seating but it is next to a car dealer (which has some classic cars on display).
This is the double bacon cheeseburger that I ordered. I like that it isn't huge. I think it is the right size. The bun was really nice. It had the right amount of bacon. The cheeseburger was juicy. I think it was really good. I think it was cooked and put together very well.

I don't normally associate this with burger places. It is home crab Rangoon. It has a nice crunch to it and the center was really good. The shape is different from other crab Rangoon's that I have tried. It was just the right amount for an appetizer.

First Friday Fellowship (03/03/2017) at Custom House Maritime Museum - theme; Japan.

The food theme (port of call at Newburyport MA) at the First Friday Fellowship at the Custom House Maritime Museum was Japan. On the first of every month, there is a gathering of members and friends of members of the museum. There is a lecture and food. The lecture is very interesting. The food is from a country that is port of call for Newburyport MA which used to be active in shipping. The museum is a small place with some very interesting items on display. The building itself has a lot of history in itself.
This is beef misoyaki. It was really good. It was served on rice.

This is scallops with wasabi. It was not a strong wasabi. It was gone before I could get to try it.

This is chicken karaigi. It was very popular. It is basically fried chicken. It was gone before I could try some. Those who did get to have some said they enjoyed it.

This is mango with (very) sticky rice. It was excellent. I think it is a version of rice pudding. It was very popular. There was some who came back for thirds and fourths.

This is origani. It was delicious. The recipe calls for it to be wrapped in dried seaweed but I think this gives it a more artistic look to it. Wrapping is very time consuming and placing it on top makes it easier.

The food was created by member and personal cook Sheila Mullins. Her creations are one of the reasons the event is popular.

The spelling of the food might not be correct. I am trying to read the label in the photo.

French's Crispy Fried Onions Caramelized

I found a new product. It is the caramelized version of French's crispy fried onions. It was next to the other flavors at the grocery store. It seems some grocery stores have it while others only have the original flavor.
I have it eaten it by itself. It has a nice crunch. One can taste the caramelized onions. It was delicious. I have tried it in a sandwich. It was an easy way to add caramelized onions to it. I think it would be great as a topping on macaroni and cheese or soup. I have tried both and it was good.

I really like it. I ate most of it before trying it with anything else. I am getting more.

There are recipes on the container and at their web site (recipes). I like the green bean casserole but I think using asparagus instead of green beans (mainly because I don't like green beans) is better.
