My Tomato Plant with More Tomatoes

 I am growing a tomato plant in my backyard. It went from a small plant to a really big plant. It started out in a small pot with a few leaves but has grown into a big plant that covers more than two square yards. It has really grown and produced a lot of tomatoes. 

the tomato plant is partly on the mulch and partly on the grass. It has really spread out. I give it

some Miracle Grow and it has really responded to it. I water it in addition to the rain that we

have been getting. We have gotten a lot of rain.

They are not perfect but they do taste great. There would be more but there is a competition

between me and the animals in the backyard. I seem to be winning but they do get some 

tomatoes. I occasionally find ripened ones with bites out of them. 

I like to teat them with mayonnaise on bread with a dash of seasoned salt. I like Lawry's seasoned salt but I try to not add too much. I think it tastes great. There are times I don't add any bread to it. This makes it lighter in calories. There are times I eat tomatoes with peanut butter on a lettuce. It is weird to some but tastes great to me.

My English Breakfast by Me - one of my first attempts at it.

 I had an English breakfast on the Norwegian Cruise Line Pearl. It was at their O'Shearns restaurant. One of the options was an English breakfast; which had - in my opinion - perfect portions. I am trying to replicate it as best as I can at home. It will probably take a lot of tries with many that are okay to almost as good. Here is one of those attempts. 

I get the pan - a cast iron one that I like to use - heated up before cooking on it. I have a small timer that is set for 5 minutes. I want to make sure the pan is hot instead of waiting for it to heat up while I am trying to cook on it. It also gives me time to get things - in this case ; eggs, muffins, hash browns and other things - before I start cooking.

I like baked beans I sometimes get the Bush's no sugar added baked beans.

It was really good. The portion was bigger than what they had on the cruise line. 

I like to fry eggs. I like them over easy. This time I used Egglands Best eggs. 

I preheat my cast iron pan. I put butter on the pan then the eggs. I cook them one at a time. 

I put salt (Himalayan salt) and pepper on them when they are cooking.

The yolk usually doesn't break but it can be tricky; knowing when to flip them.

I used Thomas's English muffins. They were on sale. They are really good.

I put butter on them. They seem to taste better when they are on sale.

Here are the hash browns. They are in the frozen section of the grocery store.

I tried using the toaster to cook them but it came out 'soggy'.

I fry them after I fry the eggs. They came out a lot crunchier. 

I might try the oven but I fried them. Since the frying pan was already hot,

why not use the pan? 

I didn't put ketchup on it. It has ketchup in it. It is the Mayochup from Heinz. 

It is a combination of mayonnaise and ketchup. It is neat finding it in a bottle. 

I usually combine them myself. 

They have other great combinations. I have tried some but not others.

It is not easy finding all their combinations at any one store.

My Chocolates From The Candyman Store in Newburyport MA

 There is a candy store in Newburyport MA called the Candyman. It is a great little store that sells chocolates and other candy. I believe they make a lot of what they sell. 

Here is the door to the Candyman store. One can see all the good stuff that is inside. I am amazed on how much can be put into such a nice little store. One can also see where they make some of it. There are windows into the work area. 

This is just one part of their store. It shows a really big variety of taffy that they sell. There are a lot of flavors. I think (IIRC) they make the taffy there. It is a must see to really appreciate all the flavors that are on display and available to purchase. 

My Box of Goodies; 

Here is the box that they put my chocolates into. It wasn't big but I didn't buy a lot of chocolates. I was tempted to since they have a lot of good stuff and it smells so good. 

Here is the inside of the box of chocolates that I bought. I have a thing for peanut butter cups and they had a variety of them. It was a huge amount. It is wasn't easy narrowing it down to just a few. It all looked so good. For a small store, they have a lot of choices. 

As a diabetic, I try to not eat too many at one time. It is my occasional treat. It is really good. 

I think this little store has something for everyone. I doubt it would appeal to every ones taste but I think most will like it. The people there are very friendly. I think the prices are very good.

Tomatoes from my tomato plant growing in the backyard

 

I was given a tomato plant by my neighbor. It was a small thing. Now it has grown to be quite the big thing. It went from a few square inches to a square yard. I have been watering it, God has been watering it with rain and I give it some Miracle Grow too. The above is just some of the tomatoes that I have gotten from it. I had a few more but they were either eaten by me or something else in the backyard. I would find 'teeth marks' in some of the tomatoes but I still get some for myself.

I like to eat my tomatoes sliced with some mayonnaise on a bread which is seasoned with some seasoned bread. It is also good with a hamburger which I either grill or fry in the pan (depending on the weather and temperature outside). I like to eat it with a bologna and cheese with mayonnaise in a sandwich (2 slices of bread). 

I think chopped tomatoes are good on a salad. It adds some tastiness to it. It keeps it from being boring. It is good with a variety of salad dressings. I like French or Catalina salad dressing. 

There are times I like to eat things in an unusual way. Since this post is about my tomatoes, I will talk about the unusual way of eating them. There are times I like to eat a slice of tomato with peanut butter on a slice of bread. There are times I like to eat a slice of tomato with peanut butter and mayonnaise on a slice of bread (or two and make it a sandwich). Another way is to eat a slice of tomato with peanut butter, mayonnaise, a slice of bologna and cheese in a sandwich (two slices of bread). I don't eat it this way to gross people out but because I like to eat it that way. Grossing people out is just a fringe benefit.

Supper at the Family Chinese Restaurant in Salisbury MA - 09/30/2023

 

Family Chinese Restaurant in Salisbury MA

My brother and I had supper at the Family Chinese Restaurant in Salisbury MA. It is a really nice place to eat. It is a popular place to eat. I think the prices are very good. They have three different eating areas. The seats are comfortable. I like the décor of the restaurant. 

We ordered appetizers. Jerry ordered the steamed dumplings and I ordered the crab Rangoon's. Both were really good. In the past I normally order the fried dumplings but I think the steamed ones are even better (I got to try one of Jerry's and he tried one of mine). 

I ordered the crab Rangoon. It was delicious. I liked it with the sauce the provided. Unfortunately, I did not take any pictures of the appetizers. It was big and crunchy with a delicious stuffing. It was a little more than expected but not so big that I couldn't eat my main meal. 

Jerry ordered the crispy fish. He had eaten at other restaurants but they did not have this on their menu. He said he enjoyed it. He wasn't able to finish it all. It is a good thing we could get a take home bag. I think I would give that a try the next time we are there. 

I had ordered the shrimp with lobster sauce. It was different from what I had at other restaurants. I thought it was really good. I had it over the pork fried rice. I could barely finish it all. It was really good. The shrimp was big and delicious and well cooked. 

We shared a dish of pork fried rice. It was really good. I had some but I think my brother didn't since his main entre was quite filling. There was more than one choice of fried rice and we chose the pork fried rice. I think it was a good choice.

Breakfast at Riverside Café in Newburyport MA

 

The Riverside Café in Newburyport MA

The restaurant isn't big but it is really nice looking. The staff were really nice and got my food quickly. The cook did a great job of cooking and presenting the food. There wasn't a lot of seating but they were comfortable. The restroom was clean. Overall, it was a great experience. 

I had breakfast with my sister at the Riverside Café in Newburyport MA. I had the biscuits and gravy. I also ordered a side of home fries. The biscuit was really good. The biscuit was most and not dry. The amount of gravy was excellent. I think some places do not give enough gravy but this was not the case. I ordered the eggs over easy. It was done quite well. The home fries were chunky and well cooked. I dipped them into the gravy; there was a lot of gravy. I liked it better than putting ketchup on them. I thought it was a good combination.

I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who is hungry and wants a pleasant experience.
