Loaded Tater Tots and Fish Sandwich at Port Taverns in Newburyport MA

I ate at Port Tavern of Newburyport MA. It is in the downtown area. We - a couple of friends of mine - were able to go inside and eat. It was nice since it was cold outside. It wasn't crowded.

The staff wore face masks. There was plastic dividers. We were seated apart from others. They cleaned everything. It was not only a good place to eat but also a safe place to eat.

Port Tavern.

Here is the front of the restaurant. There is both inside and outside eating. It was cold so we ate inside. One can see it from road. One can park on the road or in a parking area within walking distance from the restaurant.

This is the loaded tater tots appetizer. It was really good. I didn't expect that much. I ate it all. It was really good with the cheese and sour cream and all that they added to it.

I got the fish sandwich. It was really good. It came with fries. In some places the fries would be called chips. There was a small container of ketchup. It came with a pickle. The fries was good. They weren't overcooked. The plastic container had ketchup. The pickle was delicious. It wasn't stale. It had a nice crunch to it.

Pork and Ricotta Meat Balls and Sweet Potato Fries at Loretta's in Newburyport MA

I went to Loretta's with friends. It was nice and warm inside while it was cold and snow outside. We had walked to the restaurant from where I live. The tables were cleaned before we used them and the staff wore face masks. We used the QR reader on our phones to read / see the menu. It wasn't busy. We wore our face masks when we went into and out of the restaurant. We took them off to eat.

Loretta's .

Here is the front of the Loretta's restaurant. There is parking on the street and a parking area within walking distance of the restaurant. We walked from my house; therefore, parking was not a problem.

This is the sweet potato fries I ordered as an appetizer. I asked for mayonnaise - not shown - that ate with ketchup and mayonnaise. The fries was thicker than expected. It wasn't greasy. It was cooked just right. I enjoyed them. I even ate the green part. I am not sure what the green part was but I ate it after dipping it into the mayonnaise and ketchup.

I ordered the pork and ricotta meat balls. It came with bread; garlic I think. It was placed on thin spaghetti pasta. It had two meat balls. The meat balls was delicious. The meat balls was a nice size. There was just two but were not tiny. The pasta was cooked well. It was great together. It wasn't a lot of it. It was really good.

This is the flowers that was on the table that we sat at. I thought they were really pretty. I like to do paintings of different things; one of which is flowers. It would be neat to do a painting of these flowers.

This is me. It was a selfie at the restaurant where I ate the food pictured above.

Popeye's Chicken in Maine

On the way to L.L. Bean's store in Maine, we stopped at a rest area and bought some stuff. There was a a couple of eateries there. One of them was a Popeye's. It has been a long time since I have eaten at a Popeye's. The last time I was in NJ and that has been a few years ago.

Popeye Chicken was at a rest area. The rest area was on the way to go to a L.L. Bean store in Maine. I bought this because it has been years since I had some.

I ordered spicy hot but it was spicy flavorful. It was good and yet a little disappointing. I was hoping for some bite to it but there wasn't any. I hope they get my order right the next time I go to one. It was moist. The skin was crunchy but not too hard.

I really love the spicy hot chicken and sea food at Popeye's. I like it when the food 'bites back'. I try restaurants that have spicy hot food; not all the time but I try on a regular basis.

The biscuit was pretty good. It wasn't too dry.

I think there was fries but I had eaten them before I took the photo (at least I think there was fries).

I will be looking for one closer to where I live. I am glad I came across one.

The workers there wore face masks and had dividers to keep everyone safe. There were barriers to keep people apart. It was - in my opinion - a safe place to eat. There was tables and chairs in main hall there but I ate in my car.

Dimillo's On the Water in Portland Maine - Twin Lobsters and the Special

When we were there, we didn't really see this since it was dark and snowing. I want to go back so I can see what it looks like during the day when it is not snowing plus it would be great to eat there again.

we ate at DiMillio's On The Water in Portland Maine. My brother and I was at L.L. Beans store and came here afterwards. We were going to a different place but it had already closed for the night. We saw this place and wanted to try it. It is really cool since it is on a converted ferry. It is really cool inside. The food was really good. There wasn't a lot of people there but that could be because it was snowing out. We felt the rocking of the ferry while eating. One can see parts that was the ferry. I think they did an excellent job. There was a gift shop on the dock of the ferry. We bought a few things there.

This is what I ordered. It was really good. It was the special. It sounded really good. I wish I could remember what it was but new that it sounded really good when the wait staff told me it. My taste buds were really thankful that I ordered it as well as my tummy.

My brother ordered the twin lobsters. It came with melted butter and lemon slices. He really enjoyed them. He had a bib for when he ate them but forgot to put it on. It was not easy for him to get it open. He is glad he did.
Here he is holding the bib but after he ate the lobsters. He didn't see the bib till after he had consumed the seafood. He had a face mask on when we entered and left. It is off while he ate. I took mine off to so I could eat.
He got the mashed potatoes with gravy as a side dish. He was barely able to eat all of it. The two lobsters was filling.

Here is an inside photo. This is toward the middle of the room. There was lights that caused a slight glare for the photo but one can see how nice it is.

There are tables near the windows / walls where one can see the boats outside along the pier that the restaurant is on. It was snowing out and at night. One can still see the boats.

This was on the side where we sat. It looked really nice. There was a gentle rocking of the boat / ferry the restaurant is in. We could still eat without any problem.

I tried to take a photo of the boats outside. The light reflecting from inside made it difficult. One can see the boats rocking whenever there was a wave. It only rocked the boat / ferry where we were.

They did comply with all the rules. It was - in my opinion - safe to eat inside. It was also a great experience too. I think one an eat inside and feel safe while experiencing the restaurant and the food.

We had face masks when we entered and left the restaurant. They had cleaned everything before we got to the tables. I saw the cleaning supplies. The wait staff wore face masks when they got our orders and brought the food out. The tables were set apart and people were at tables that were apart from other tables. In my opinion, they did everything to keep people safe.

A Modified Blueberry Sour Cream Scone Mix

I bought a box of blueberry sour cream scone mix by King Arthur Flour. It was on sale. One can see the price on the front of the package.

I like to go to the discount section of grocery stores (if they have one). The items there are still good but reduced in price to either get them sold or because there is slight damage to the package.

I had this box of scones mx. Normally I just go by the directions. I had bought the scone mix in the past (sometimes I added a little extra milk to keep it from being too dry). This time I decided to add some stuff to the mix; an extra egg (directions require only one), a little extra milk (more than what the directions call for), extra blueberries (I had some frozen ones that I picked last summer). The result wasn't 'scone like' but I liked it. I think the water (attached to the frozen blueberries in the form of ice) might have kept it from rising; they were kind off flat. I will rinse off the ice and dry it off the blueberries the next time I try it.

Here is the mix box. One can see the discounted price. It is one of different scone mixes that I have tried.

Here are the scones in the oven. It made a lot more than expected. I had sprayed the pan with cooking spray so it would not stick to it.

Here is the scones after I took them out of the oven. I turned off the oven but kept them in the oven a few minutes afterward since it was bubbling; probably the water from the frozen blueberries that I had added. I had sprayed the pan and it was easy to remove them from it.

I had made scones in the past and they were more 'scone like'. I want to get them round like they like to show on scone mix bags and boxes. I think they probably used some 'form' that gives them that shape. Might be easier if I used the recommended amount of liquid. Perhaps next time.

An Evening at Casa Tequila in Seabrook NH

I like eating at Casa Tequila in Seabrook NH. They have really good food and the service is really good. The prices are really good. It is great getting to eat inside too. It has some nice décor. It was a nice experience. It is my favorite Mexican restaurant.

The restaurant is easy to find. It is on route 1 in Seabrook NH. It is near the main business section; near a shopping mall. It is easy to get to. There is a big sign with the name. There is parking in the back. There is an entrance in the front and in the back. When it is warm out, there is an eating area in back.

Casa Tequila (Seabrook NH)Menu.

This is the appetizer that we shared. It was quiso fundido (charizo and cheese). It was really good. I am glad we shared it since it was a little too much for one person.

This is the bread that came with my meal. One filled up each one with what is on ones plate. It was really good that way.

This is what Jerry ordered. He ate most of it. He left only a small part on the plate; some of the rice. I totally forgot what he ate. As one can see, there was rice and beans. I think it was burritos.

This was the chips that came before the meal. It came with really good sauce that had some really nice bite to it. The chips were crunchy and fresh and not stale. It was good with the sauce but I had to be careful not to eat too much otherwise I would not be able to eat the main course.

This is what I ordered. It is the Chile Colorado. It was really good. It was really filling. I used some of the right to fill the bread. The rice and beans was well seasoned and really good.

Biscuits with Gravy at IHOP

It has been awhile since I have been to an IHOP; International House of Pancakes. We were able to eat inside. For awhile people could not get in because of the covid but now they can; with NH being a little more open than MA where I live. The IHOP was in Seabrook NH.

We were going north early but decided to have breakfast on the way. It was on the way north to a place in Maine that we wanted to check prices on something. It was a good start for the day.

IHOP.

I ordered the biscuits and gravy. It has been a long time since I ordered it. I have enjoyed it at other places that I had ordered it. I enjoyed it at IHOP too but it was also a little disappointing. The menu indicated it was buttermilk biscuits. It was - as seen above - port muffins. I am used to a lot more gravy being on it. The gravy was good but not as much as wanted. The sausage was good but I was expecting it to be chopped up in the gravy; the way other places had it. So I won't sound too negative, I did like the eggs and hash browns. The eggs was cooked like I wanted; over easy. I put it on top of the gravy and muffins. The hash browns was cooked well. It was good.

both above and below need a lot of work.

Steak and Ribs at Longhorn Steakhouse

I took my brother to a Longhorn Steakhouse for his birthday. I also like eating there too. It was in Manchester NH.

We got there and was told that we had to wait an hour before going in. We decided it was worth it. We both have eaten at Longhorn Steakhouse before and it was always good.

While we waited, we went to a nearby Best Buy. By the time we were finished looking around, our seat was ready. It was a short drive from the store to the restaurant.

Longhorn Steakhouse has a neat mid western décor / theme to it. I really think it adds to it and gives a great atmosphere while one enjoys ones steak or whatever one eats.

The service was really good. The wait was so they could have people eat in and keep people apart; because of the covid situation. We were able to take off our face mask so we could eat. The waiters had theirs on. It was a friendly.

Longhorn SteakhouseMenu

This is my favorite appetizer at Longhorn Steakhouse. It is white cheddar stuffed mushrooms. I try to order it every time I go there. It was and still is very good. I had it all to myself. The next time I go there, I will try something else. I like trying different foods.

I got the chopped steak. I ordered it cooked medium rare. It was really good. It came with onions and mushrooms. It was cooked just right. I really liked it. It was really tender. I didn't need a knife to cut it with.

I ordered a side of a sweet potato with cinnamon and sugar. I really love it that way. I like how they cooked it. It raised my blood sugar level but I think it was worth it. I try not to order it too often. I guess some would not have eaten the skin but I like eating it too. It would really have to be bad before I would eat it. It was good too.

Jerry ordered the full rack of baby back ribs. He really enjoyed it. As one can see by the photo, it was really big. It was bigger than he expected. He wasn't able to finish the whole thing. I was able to some. have some. I agreed with him, it was really good.

Jerry also ordered the shrimp and lobster soup. He really enjoyed it. I did not get a photo of that. It was gone quickly. I am pretty sure it was what he had but I know for sure he liked it.

I believe this is the grilled Brussel sprouts. It was crunchy and good and didn't have the bitterness that one usually have with Brussel sprouts. I think there was a few (not many) might have been a little over cooked but it was very small bits but most was good.

We were both too full for desert. As a diabetic, I don't normally order desert. If I had a choice between having an appetizer or desert, I would go for an appetizer since I can't have most or all of the deserts.

The photos of the food above was taken on my Samsung Galaxy phone. I use a free camera app that I downloaded from the Play Store by Google.

I have a Café Press store.
It needs a lot of work.

01/14/2021.  One can see I have not posted any blogs for quite awhile. Since I am between jobs (apart from my what I get from the job I retired from), I have time. This is not just eating out but also eating in, cooking, books and other food related items. TLM
