Four Appetizers At Sea Level Oyster in Newburyport MA

I was waiting for a device to charge at a bank and went for lunch. Since Sea Level Oyster was withing walking distance of the bank and I wanted to try it since it had opened recently. Sea Level Oyster is a nice restaurant that isn't far from the boardwalk. There is seating in back on their back porch. It has a view of the boardwalk and the Merrimack River. Since it was raining, I had lunch at the bar. One can see the televisions.

I had four appetizers. I ordered three but accidentally received a fourth one. One came before the other three - the one I did not order but got. The plates were not huge. They had a nice amount of food on them. Except for the fried clams - which seemed big for an appetizer, most was what I would consider reasonable in size. I am not one for appetizers that are as big as an entree.
This is baked clams. I got it by mistake but I am glad I did. It was really good.  I tried to pay for it but they insisted it was their mistake. I wanted to pay for it since I ate it even though I knew I had not ordered it.

This is chowder fries. I have heard of poutine fries but not chowder fries. I think this is a delicious variation of it. It has clam chowder on it with clams in shells. I am glad they had this variation.

This is the crab cake. It was big. It was delicious. The crab cake was on top of a sauce. It made it taste even better. The chips - left side of photo - taste like they made it themselves. It did not taste like anything one buys in bags. The green was pretty good. It had a light sauce on them.

By the time I got to the fried clams, I had eaten the other three. I did give it a try. It was good. One can tell they used whole clams and not minced ones. Whole clams are better than minced ones but minced ones are good if one has false teeth and/or trouble eating the whole ones.

(it needs updating but I will get to that soon).

I chose different items that I put my art on that can be bought.
I want to take better photos of my art so I can increase the items that has them on it.

Elk Burger at Fudrucker's at Sunbrella IMAX and Jordan's Furniture.

There is a restaurant that is located in the same building of the Sunbrella IMAX theater and Jordan's Furniture. It is called Fudruckers.  It is not a huge restaurant and it is informal. It is near the jelly bean store and ice cream store.

I ordered the elk burger. I have had it before and it was good. It was good this time too. I got it with French fries and a big soda. I chose a diet cola since I am a diabetic. I had the elk burger cooked medium rare.

There is a station where one could add different items - tomatoes, lettuce, mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard and other items - on the sandwich. I added shredded lettuce and tomato on the sandwich.

I am odd I guess. I like mayonnaise on my French fries. I prefer it to ketchup. There are times I have mayonnaise, ketchup and mustard on my French fries.

Here is the elk burger I ordered and consumed and enjoyed. One can barely see the fries since I have mayonnaise on them; left side of photo. One can see the shredded lettuce and tomato and mayonnaise I put on my elk burger; on right side of photo.

Here is the inside of the Jordan's furniture. It is a really neat place to visit.

Here is another view of the inside of Jordan's furniture. It is cool looking.  There were items made with 'jelly beans'. They sell Jelly Belly jelly beans; a brand that has really good flavors.

Chicken Alfredo Fettuccine and White Chocolate Twist at Amato's.

I had a lunch at Amato's. It is located in Seabrook NH. It is an Italian / pizza / sub sandwich restaurant. It has a casual setting but with formal type offerings. The seating is casual and one orders the food at the counter. One can eat there or take it to go. When one eats in, they bring it out to you. The food is served on nice plates and one eats with plastic utensils. The service is friendly.
Here is the outside of the Amato's in Seabrook NH. It is clearly visible from the road. It is on a main road near a Home Depot and an Ocean State Job Lots stores.

This is what Amato's looks like on the inside. One can see the casual setting.  Behind the view of the camera is the casual seating, similar to a cafeteria.

This is the Alfredo fettuccine. I had it with chicken. It was delicious and filling. It had just the right amount of flavor. The chicken was grilled and flavored. The sauce did not overwhelm the pasta. The sauce was creamy. The pasta and sauce was cooked well.

This is the open box of white chocolate twist cake. It tasted great. It did not taste too sweet. It was a good balance of sweet and tasty. It was just the right size. It was flavorful but not too sweet.

One got the cake from an open ice box where it was on display. One could eat it there or take it home. Since the fettuccine was filling, I had took it home and ate it later.

Asparagus, Tomato, Garlic Hummus and Fresh Basil Benedict at Hebert's

I like eating at Hebert's. It is a nice restaurant that has a warm decor and friendly service. Hebert's Facebook page.
This is Hebert's. It is unassuming on the outside but really nice on the inside. There are different parts one could eat at. One - in back - looks like a diner. One can eat at the bar. One could eat at the booths near the front. I would recommend it to everyone.

Here is the menu for the specials of the day (the day being July 1st, 2017). There were many items on it that looked very good. I chose the special Benedict. It changes from day to day. I think this keeps it from being boring or too routine.

Here is the asparagus, tomato, garlic humus and fresh basil Benedict. The asparagus had a nice crunch to it. It was not over cooked. The eggs was cooked just right. The toast / English muffin had a nice crunch to it. The sauce was creamy. The different parts came together to make something that was really delicious.

The home fries was cooked just right. Being an odd fellow with unique tastes, I had them with mayonnaise. It was pretty good. I did add ketchup when they mayonnaise ran out.

I have tried the other special Benedict's and they were very good. This time was no exception.  They have a tasty and good food imagination.

Steak Burrito at Tacos Lupita in Haverhill MA

I was taken to an authentic Mexican restaurant in Haverhill MA called Tacos Lupita. The place is small but comfortable. The prices seems reasonable. The people were friendly. They have a Facebook page.

I was brought to this restaurant being told that it is authentic Mexican food. Not being an authority on Mexican food, I could not really say if it was or wasn't. I was told that it was by someone of Dominican descent. Without my friend, I would not have known about the place or even try it.
Here is the outside of the Tacos Lupita. It is a simple design. It is quite unassuming in appearance. The front is clean. There seems to be parking only on the street.

The inside is not crowded. It has a simple layout of tables. It is not fancy. One can see where one orders on the right and pays on the left. The service is friendly.
Here is my steak burrito. It was really well done. I got the fried beans and rice. It was delicious. It was quite filling. They have a nice variety of foods.

Here are the tortilla's that I used to make the burrito's. It was warm and delicious. There was three of them. It was a good size since I could eat them without feeling too filled.

If one wanted Mexican food, this is a place I would recommend. I think it would appeal to a wide range of ages.

Bento Box at Hana Japan in Newburyport MA

Hana Japan is a little bit of Japan in Newburyport MA. It is not a big place. The seating is comfortable and the service is polite and attentive. I liked the decor. Since it is part of the shopping center, there is lots of parking available. I think the prices are reasonable.
Here is the inside. It is not big but it is comfortable and cozy. One does not see the sushi bar on the left. The seating is very comfortable. One can see some of the decor.

Here is the outside. The outside does not show how nice it is on the inside. The outside looks plain but the inside is anything but plain.
Here is the bento box that I ordered. I ordered the shrimp and vegetable tempura, the crab sumai, and dumplings. It was very good. It came with soup (miso) and a salad.

This is the dumplings that was ordered by my brother. I had a bit of one. It was really good. It was also part of my binto box.

This is what my brother ordered. He really enjoyed it. There wasn't anything left for me to sample.

Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, Sliders and Desert at Mission Oak Grill in Newburyport MA

I was treated at Mission Oak Grill for my birthday by my sister in law and friend Sheila Kataria Mullins (who is a personal cook [in the Newburyport MA area] - a very good one - Valley Patriot, Sheila's Recipe Corner).

Mission Oak Grill is a really nice place. It is in the ground floor of an old church in Newburyport MA. Parking is on the street or one can walk to it from a parking area nearby. The interior is warm and inviting. The seating is comfortable. The service is polite and attentive. They use the auditorium upstairs for events and parties.
There is a variety of seating available.

This is the jumbo shrimp cocktail. The shrimp were big, jumbo in size. One gets three of them. It is unique in that the straighten out the shrimp. The cocktail sauce isn't your ordinary sauce. It was different (in a good way) from what one gets at the store. It was delicious and had a nice bite to it.

This is the sliders that I ordered. There are three and each one is different. They were really good. One could add the pickles, tomato and lettuce if one so desired. I ate them separately. It came with French fries and a small container of ketchup. The sliders was a nice size and tasted great. It was well done. The fries were cooked just right. I liked the ketchup.
This is the desert. I think it was a fudge brownie. I shared it with my sister and friend. Sharing kept me from having too much of it. It was my guilty pleasure. As a diabetic, I had to be careful of such rich foods but I compensated by walking later that day (I still felt it later but it was worth the slight pain).

There are lots of nice eating places in Newburyport MA (as well as stores).
