Mr Mac - macaroni and cheese - Restaurant - Cheeseburger Mac and Pulled Pork Mac

I came across a place called Mr. Mac's. It has a big variety of macaroni and cheese. One can eat in or take out. When eating in, they food is in metal pans. When taking out, the food is in containers. The service was friendly. Since it was the first time I was there, they were helpful in explaining the menu. I will be going back to try their other varieties.
It was a nice sized restaurant. It had a drive up window. The seats were comfortable. It was well lit. The menu board was well lit. It was easy to see and read.
This is the cheeseburger mac. It was really good. I think the pickle on top is a nice touch. It is served in a metal pot on top of a wood circle. The pot was hot but there was a rubber sleeve on the handle. It was served hot but not so hot that it burned ones mouth.

This is the pulled pork mac. It was really good. The fried pieces on top was a nice touch. It was even better than the cheeseburger mac. The pulled pork flavor really added to the macaroni and cheese but did not overwhelm it. It was served hot but so hot that it burned ones mouth.

Ravioli De Fungi at Oregano Pizzeria and Restaurante in Newburyport MA

I went to lunch at the Oregano Pizzeria and Restaurante in Newburyport MA. I had lunch with my sister-in-law. It is a nice place that has a warm and friendly atmosphere. There is parking nearby so one would not have to walk far to get there. The seating is comfortable. The service is friendly. The prices are reasonable. The variety on the menu is nice.
I like how it was presented. I think presentation is part of what makes food appealing. This is ravioli de fungi. It is 'Mushroom Ravioli in a wild mushroom puree, finished with Fontina cheese & organic white truffle oil' - (copied from their online menu). I found it to be incredible delicious. I loved it. It was - in my opinion - just the right amount of food. It was filling without making one feel stuffed.

I also had a slice of my sister-in-laws personal pizza. It was delicious. It is a good place for small pizza's.
Here the inside of the restaurant. It has - in my opinion - a warm and inviting look to it.

Here is the outside of the restaurant. In the summer time - when it is really nice out - one can eat outside.

Kraft Macaroni and Cheese - Single Serve Cup

I like the macaroni and cheese single serve cup from Kraft. It is good for a meal on the go, and an in between meal snack, good for lunch, and good for those who want macaroni and cheese without making a whole box of it.

I think it tastes great. Some complain about the powdered cheese one adds to the macaroni. I think it is pretty good. One needs to thoroughly mix it up so there is no powder left. It satisfies my yearning for macaroni and cheese without having to prepare a whole box of it or risk eating all of a whole box of it.

I like adding things to it so it becomes extraordinary. There are times I like to add diced tomatoes. One time I added stewed tomatoes. Another time I added mushrooms. One time I added a small can of chicken or meat (like diced ham). One time I added tomatoes soup. I had some spaghetti sauce I added to it. One time I added ketchup. There are times I just ate it as is.

Kraft Velveeta Shells and Cheese - Single Serve Cups

I like these single serve shells and cheese cups from Kraft Velveeta. It is great when one wants to have macaroni and cheese but don't want to make a big batch of it. It is great for snacks and an in between meal. As a single guy, it is great for a meal without being tempted to eat all of a regular batch of macaroni and cheese. Since it is a packet of cheese and not cheese powder, it has a more cheesy taste.

I like how one can be creative with it. One doesn't have to stick with just macaroni (shells) and cheese. I like to add things to it to make it unique. One time I added peas and carrots to it. Another time I added some spinach to it. One time I added chicken. I like adding mushrooms to it too. There are times I like to add diced tomatoes. I think it is limited by one's imagination and taste buds.

Philadelphia Cream cheese with Jalapeno's

I bought a container of the jalapeno cream cheese spread by Philadelphia cream cheese. There are times I like to eat food with a little to a lot of bite. This is one of those times. It is something I like to add to other foods to give it more bite to the taste.
I like to have it on a cracker with a piece of meat, or a piece of vegetable. It varies with the mood I am in or what I have available in the kitchen. Sometimes it is bologna or leftover chicken, etc. There are times I like it with a vegetable. I like to eat celery with cream cheese and sometimes I want that cream cheese to have some bite to it.

There is one thing that I want to try but have not. I like to make cheesecake. I think it would be interesting to make cheesecake with one of the flavored cream cheese's from Philadelphia. Have a jalapeno cheesecake that has some bite? I did a Google using 'jalapeno cheesecake' and found some recipes for it. I didn't realize there would be any. Perhaps having the jalapeno's already in the cream cheese would make it a step easier?

Skinny Me Belgian Chocolate Squares - Bold Dark Chocolate

I received a box of Skinny Me Belgian chocolate squares. They are bold dark chocolate. It was a box of 30 11 gram (.39 oz) pieces. It indicates it is only 1.5 net carbs per piece. It indicates it uses a stevia extract, as the sweetener.
I have not found them at stores (yet but I am still looking). I ordered the ones I received by ordering them online. They have a nice website.

It tastes delicious. Since it is in separate packages, one can enjoy one without having to expose the rest to the air. I thought the stevia would influence the flavor but it doesn't.

Fried Dumplings and Gen Tso Chicken at Asian Wok Express in Hampton NH

I had supper at the Asian Wok Express on Route 1 / Lafayette Rd in Hampton NH. It is a nice little place with a few parking spaces. They also have a nice little eating area so one could eat there instead of taking it out. The menu has many items in it; Appetizers / Soups / Rices and Entrees and Lunch / Dinner Combos.
Here is the eating area. It is not big but great for small groups. There is some nice wall decor. The people there are friendly. The table and chairs are nice.

Here is the outside of the restaurant. One parks in the area between the fence and the building that the restaurant is in.
Here is the Gen Tso chicken that I ordered. It has some nice bite to it. It has great flavor. It came with steamed rice. I like to use it to absorb the sauce with. It makes the rice even tastier and one can save it for later. I save steamed before as is but it is too sticky when cold. With the sauce, it keeps it from too sticky.
I also had the fried dumplings. It was really good. The photo is from a Google search. I like the sauce that it comes with. I like dipping the fried dumplings into it.

French Toast, Hash Browns and Blueberry Muffin at Wicked Big Cafe in Haverhill MA

I had lunch at Wicked Big Cafe. It is located in Haverhill MA. It is not a big place. It has a unique look to it. They have different coffees and teas. They do have a nice variety of foods. Their menu is on the wall behind the counter.
I ordered the blueberry muffin. The toasted it and put warmed butter on it. It tasted great. I am glad it was warmed up. It was really nice. I think it was nice that it came in the small container. To eat it, I took it out and put it on the plate that the French toast and hash browns came on. I ate it with a fork.

I ordered the French toast and has browns. The French toast is sliced and one can eat them with ones hands or use a fork. They are drizzled with syrup. They syrup isn't soaked but just enough to flavor it. It was pretty good. The hash browns is similar to the ones you can get at McDonald's or from the grocery store. I liked the crunch. I ate them with the ketchup that comes with it.

Here is the sign outside the restaurant. There is parking on the street and nearby.
It has a warm and inviting interior.

Quiche and Barley Soup at Middle Street Foods in Newburyport MA.

I went to Middle Street Foods in Newburyport MA for lunch. It is a small restaurant / cafe place that has no real parking except for the streets that are in the area. It is a small business. The service is friendly and the prices are good and the food is good.
I had ordered the spinach tomato quiche. It was really good tasting. I like the size of the quiche. It wasn't too hot. It was filled with flavor.

I also had a diet Coke and Maui onion chips with it. They have a nice variety of beverages to chose from but not a huge variety. There is a nice variety of flavors in chips.

I also ordered the beef barley soup. I am not normally a barley soup person but this was very good. It came with bread that was tasty. I used it to dip into the soup. It was good together.

It is not far from downtown Newburyport MA (a great little town for shopping and restaurants). I think it is a delicious way to 'shop small'. It is a great way to have lunch while shopping in the downtown area of Newburyport MA.

Samoan Flavor at the First Friday Fellowship at the Custom House Maritime Museum in Newburyport MA

On January 6th of 2017, there was an event called the First Friday Fellowship. It was held for members and friends of members at the Custom House Maritime Museum in Newburyport MA. Each First Friday Fellowship food is based on a port of call that ships that arrived in Newburyport MA was from. This is why food from Samoa was served.
This was really good. It was a desert.

It is amazing how something that looks so bland could taste so well. The flavor was opposite of how it looked. I had a few servings of this.

This was really good. I had a few servings.

This was really good. It was not easy to eat but it was worth it.

This was delicious. It did not last long.

This was a fish dish. It was not easy to get much since it went quickly.

Port Tavern Shepherds Pie at Port Tavern in Newburyport MA

I went to Port Tavern in Newburyport MA. I had shepherds pie that had beef instead of lamb. Port Tavern is a nice little restaurant in Newburyport MA. It is not a huge place but it is welcoming and the service is really nice. It has a centrally located bar but one does not have to drink to enjoy the place. They have a small upper room for events. Every so often, they have live music.
The photo is a little dark since the restaurant was a little dark but one can see how it looks. It had a nice salad on the side. It tasted really good. It was quite satisfying.

I read that it isn't a shepherds pie unless you use lamb / mutton. I read that it is called cottage pie if beef is used.
'Cottage pie, also known as shepherd's pie, is a British meat pie with a mashed potato top. It is traditionally made with leftover roast meat, but today it is more often made with fresh minced or ground meat, most commonly lamb. When made with beef, it is more commonly known ascottage pie (see below).'
The above quoted from Wikibooks.
'Cottage pie or shepherd's pie is a type of savory pie. It is made with minced meat, with mashed potato on top. ... In modern British English, the dish is usually called "cottage pie" if it is made with beef. If it is made with lamb it is usually called "shepherd's pie" (because a shepherd looks after sheep).'
