Voortman Orange Creme Wafers

I found something new. It is the sugar free orange creme wafer from Voortman's. I saw it at a local grocery store. I have no doubt it is at many grocery stores. I have seen it in different flavors but this is the first time I saw it in this flavor (either I did not notice it before, they did not carry this flavor before or it is new. I like it since it is sugar-free (being a diabetic, I try to control my sugar intake).
I think it was really good. I have tried their other flavors (sugar-free ones). They ranged from okay to really good. The sugar free orange creme is in the really good part of the range.

I think it is good for someone watching their sugar intake or carbs as long as they don't overdo it. It is sugar free but not carb free. It does not taste like it is sugar free; in my opinion.

Queso Fundito and Pork Belly Taco at Metzy's

I had a late lunch at Metzy's. Metzy's was just a food truck and now it is also a restaurant too. The Cantina is at the Newburyport MA train station. It is a nice little place that has a warm welcoming atmosphere. They have breakfast, lunch and supper / dinner. In warmer seasons, one can eat outside.
This is what my brother had. He orders the appetizer. It is affordable and filling. I don't remember what he had. I was not able to try it since he ate it all before I could 'snitch' some.

This is a couple of their beverages. They also have diet Coke but only in small bottles. I ordered two flavors. They both were pretty good. They are flavored seltzer water. They have just enough flavor to make them tasty. They also have a variety of beverages there.

This is their appetizer. It is the queso fundito. It was really good. I like the freshness of the chips. I liked the flavor of the toppings that was on it. It was really good. It was more than what I could eat. I shared it with my brother but even then I had to take some home.

This is the main entry I ordered. I like food that has some bite to it. This had some bite to it. It was not strong but it was really good. I liked how it was held in place by the wire device it sits on. It made it easier to eat. I really enjoyed it.

One can see the train next to the Metzy's Cantina.

Here is another view of the Metzy's building.

Bacon Cheddar Mac and Cheese, and Philly Cheese Steak at Mr. Mac's

It is a nice place in Portsmouth on Route 1 / Lafayette Rd. It has a variety of macaroni dishes. They do what I like to do at home; add things to a regular macaroni and cheese dish. Mine are not has fancy as theirs but there are times mine come close. They have friendly service and a clean inviting eating area. One can eat in - where they put your order in a pan (varying sizes) or in boxes (varying sizes) to take home. They have from small to really big.

This is the bacon cheddar mac and cheese that my brother had. He said it was really good. My brother ate all of his before I could sneak a bite of it.

This is the Philly cheese steak mac and cheese that I had. It was very good. It had pieces of steak in it. It had everything one associates with a Philly cheese steak. It had fried onions on top. I think that was a nice touch.

I think the prices are very reasonable. For the two dishes above plus two drinks, the cost was about $23.00. It is not easy to find a place where one is paying that for one person. The quality of the food is really good. I believe one gets ones money worth at Mr. Mac's.

February 2017 First Friday Fellowship at Custom House Maritime Museum in Newburyport MA

Here is the food served at the First Friday Fellowship at the Custom House Maritime Museum in Newburyport MA. The port of call that the food is based on is Turkey. The food was very popular. It was created by Sheila Mullins - a member of the CHMM and a private cook.

The description is below the dish. It shows food missing since by the time I was able to take photos, people were already in line and enjoying the food.

Seafood Stuffed Mushrooms and Mushroom Burger in Hebert's

I went to Hebert's Restaurant for a brunch. I had the seafood stuffed mushrooms and the mushroom burger. It is a nice restaurant. It has a cozy atmosphere. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have a diner type eating area in the back. They have separate bar area with televisions. The staff are friendly and the service is nice.
This is the seafood stuffed mushrooms. It is part of their appetizers. It was really good. The portion was just right. I really dislike appetizers that are too big and more the size of an entree. It was definitely worth ordering.
This is the mushroom burger. I ordered it medium rare with provolone cheese. One can choose one of three cheeses to put on it. One has a choice of sides. I chose sweet potato fries. It was delicious. The burger wasn't too big.
It does not look like much outside but it is nice looking on the inside. I really enjoy eating there.
