Port Tavern Shepherds Pie at Port Tavern in Newburyport MA

I went to Port Tavern in Newburyport MA. I had shepherds pie that had beef instead of lamb. Port Tavern is a nice little restaurant in Newburyport MA. It is not a huge place but it is welcoming and the service is really nice. It has a centrally located bar but one does not have to drink to enjoy the place. They have a small upper room for events. Every so often, they have live music.
The photo is a little dark since the restaurant was a little dark but one can see how it looks. It had a nice salad on the side. It tasted really good. It was quite satisfying.

I read that it isn't a shepherds pie unless you use lamb / mutton. I read that it is called cottage pie if beef is used.
'Cottage pie, also known as shepherd's pie, is a British meat pie with a mashed potato top. It is traditionally made with leftover roast meat, but today it is more often made with fresh minced or ground meat, most commonly lamb. When made with beef, it is more commonly known ascottage pie (see below).'

'Cottage pie or shepherd's pie is a type of savory pie. It is made with minced meat, with mashed potato on top. ... In modern British English, the dish is usually called "cottage pie" if it is made with beef. If it is made with lamb it is usually called "shepherd's pie" (because a shepherd looks after sheep).'
